Syniverse Panel Examines Role of Roaming with 5G

In the last few years, I’ve been writing and speaking a lot on behalf of Syniverse on 5G and its promise to revolutionize the mobile world. In just the past six months, new advancements in 5G technology and agreement on standards have made 5G one of the hottest topics in mobile, and Syniverse has been right in the middle of this helping our customers successfully navigate the 5G landscape.

For this reason, at Mobile World Congress last month, Syniverse hosted a special 5G panel session at our pavilion that I was privileged to moderate. Our discussion focused on the most crucial issues facing 5G adoption today, and we were honored to have as our panelists Howard Benn, Ph.D., Head of Standards and Industrial Affairs at Samsung Electronics Research Institute, and David Hutton, Head of Networks for the GSMA.

We captured our session on video, and over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing some of the best segments here on Synergy as well as our other communication channels. In the first of these, below, we feature one critical question addressed at the session: What role will roaming and interconnection play in the evolution of 5G? I invite you to listen to our panelists’ insights on this below, and stay tuned for more highlights from our session coming soon.

Without a doubt, one of the themes we see with our customers at Syniverse is that with today’s rapid digital transformation, a business is only as strong as its connections. 5G will mark an exciting new chapter in this evolution, and Syniverse will be right in the center of it and helping our customers make these connections to reach and engage their audiences in new ways.
