Syniverse Helps UROS Facilitate Global Roaming, Mitigate Bill Shock
TAMPA, Fla. – Oct. 5, 2015 – Syniverse today announced that it is enabling UROS Uni-fi Roaming Solutions, a global provider of low-cost global data roaming solutions, to manage operator group SIM profiles across the world from multiple networks through one centralized, hosted database. The agreement enables UROS to gain enhanced ability to provide mobile data bundles for 4G access across the globe.
As the main database of subscriber information, a Home Location Register is a critical component for any mobile service provider. UROS works with hundreds of sponsor service provider networks around the globe and through Syniverse’s hosted Home Location Register solution, it is able to eliminate the need for UROS to manage individual Home Location Registers for each of these sponsors. Moreover, the Syniverse solution enhances UROS’s ability to provide seamless mobile data connectivity abroad via its patented 4G multi-SIM mobile hotspots without facing risk of post-travel bill shock.
“As a global solutions provider of mobile data connectivity, we leverage operator relationships around the world to provide our customers with the ability to stay connected with their devices anywhere they travel, without costly data surprises,” said Gerrit Jan Konijnenberg, Group CEO, UROS. “Our local breakout solution was based on local SIMs, which are steered and monitored via our global M2M platforms. Now, by working with Syniverse, we can further expand our reach by gaining critical controlled access of SIMs across multiple networks.”
The Syniverse hosted Home Location Register platform provides a single-connection approach to enable the provisioning, visibility, control, flexibility and standardization of subscribers. Syniverse is able to expand its customers’ global reach through hosted solutions through its IPX network backbone that reaches more than 1,000 operators worldwide. Through this network, service providers like UROS can deliver differentiated mobile experiences that enhance the user experience.
“MVNEs, MVNOs and other similar solution providers face many complex challenges when integrating with mobile network operators, providing enhanced user experiences and increasing usage,” said John Wick, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile Transaction Services, Syniverse. “As consumers increasingly upgrade to smartphones and high-speed LTE services, our hosted solutions will help solution providers like UROS to launch new services with global connectivity and minimum expense.”
As the company that has made mobile work for over 25 years, Syniverse is able to provide MVNOs established infrastructure with independence to innovate and rapidly launch new services. Syniverse recently announced its role to enable MVNE Ready Wireless to control 4G data sessions through hosted data optimization and recently presented at the 2015 MVNO World Congress in France.
