Syniverse names Michael Clifton to Board of Directors
TAMPA, Fla. – Jan. 21, 2019 – Syniverse has appointed Michael Clifton, a Principal in The Carlyle Group’s global Technology, Media & Telecom Buyout Group, to the Syniverse Board of Directors. Clifton brings deep experience in the technology industry, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets. His expertise will help Syniverse strengthen its role as a connectivity innovator in the age of digital transformation as it powers a portfolio of rapidly emerging areas, such as the internet of things and 5G.
“Michael will be pivotal in helping reimagine the global growth and development possibilities for Syniverse following its major brand transformation last year,” said James Attwood, Chairman of the Syniverse Board of Directors. “His broad experience overseeing The Carlyle Group’s largest technology investments will help further Syniverse’s role as ‘the world’s most connected company.’”
Clifton brings nearly two decades of experience to his role on Syniverse’s Board of Directors. He focuses on investing in technology businesses relevant across Syniverse’s portfolio of solutions, including software, mobile communications, and cybersecurity companies. He also is currently a member of the Board of Directors for ProKarma and Ampere Computing.
