The scale of today’s internet of things is ever-increasing, and the use cases are multiplying. But given the complexity and volume of devices now, how can the industry agree on IoT security guidelines? While industry bodies have made some progress in this area, the sheer scale, variety, and complexity make consensus difficult. Recent hacks have proven this point and the acute need for a wider initiative.
At this session, Erin Linch will join a panel that explores the role that specific technologies can play, such as blockchain and hardware-based security, in the IoT. The session will examine while some risk is inevitable, the industry must ensure that the balance between risk and reward is right to encourage businesses and consumers to adopt the new technology and services enabled by the IoT.
