Syniverse Gets Ready for Mobile World Congress

As the eyes of the mobile industry turn to Barcelona for Mobile World Congress, Syniverse is planning a big showing.

Syniverse colleagues from around the globe will join over 105,000 expected attendees and 2,300 exhibitors at the show, which will explore the theme of “Creating a Better Future” and how mobile is driving the world’s major technology breakthroughs.

At the show, we’ll have a state-of-the-art pavilion in Hall 2 of Fira Gran Via (specifically, 2G11), where we’ll host meetings with key stakeholders throughout the week. If you’re attending Mobile World Congress and would like to stop by, please let us know so we can schedule a meeting time.

One major highlight during our time at the show will be an announcement of new data insights on the maturity of LTE as a global technology. The data is based on an analysis of traffic across our global IPX network that connects over 1,000 mobile operators. It zeros in on a recent milestone achieved with LTE and the implications this will have for the internet of things and 5G.

In addition, we’re looking forward to Erin Linch, Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, taking the stage as part of a session called “The Fourth Industrial Revolution: IoT Security & the Blockchain.” Erin will join a panel that includes leaders from Cisco, Microsoft, and Qualcomm, among others, to discuss how the industry can securely adopt IoT technologies and services despite the inherent business risks that come with the complexity and volume of connected devices. The session is on Monday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. CET, in Hall 4, Auditorium 4, at Fira Gran Via.

Finally, Syniverse will again be participating in the Mobile World Congress Next Generation Hotspot and Wi-Fi Certified Passpoint network, for our fourth consecutive year. Led by the Wireless Broadband Alliance and the GSMA, this initiative will allow attendees from participating mobile operators to automatically connect to the public Wi-Fi network at the Fira Gran Via venue.

If you’re coming to Barcelona, we hope to see you there, but if not, please stay tuned here to Synergy for more updates on our Mobile World Congress activities.
